Reviews

The KUU was great, wonderful original Japanese cuisine. We stayed in Hyatt regency hotel, just 10minutes walk along the beach or through the main street.

Food was delicious, and many options for all your expectations on Japanese sushi, sashimi and so on. Really recommend.

A wonderful experience enjoying Japanese food for our first time! We were a family group, and ordered several dishes to share or taste, and every one of them was outstanding! The service was excellent, and the restaurant was a very high standard.
Thank you "KUU Japanese Restaurant" for a lovely evening!

We had a great Japanese cuisine experience. Sushi is most probably best that we have ever had in Bali, fresh and authentic. They have nice selection of cocktails and some of them have interesting combination of ingredients with great Japanese touch (for example Wasabi Martini). Ohh, and lets not forget their desserts, simply amazing.

Looking forward our next visit to KUU

The most authentic Japanese food in Sanur! Relaxing ambiance. Welcome Japanese Hot Tea in air con room with refreshing aromatherapy towel. The slow cooked Pork Belly was mouthwatering, the vegan sushi a refreshing side dish, fresh local tuna sashimi, and tempura light and crunchy. They definitely pay attention to small details in flavor and presentation. We recommend ordering many small dishes and sharing so you can taste a variety of flavors.

It's a beautiful full moon night in Bali, we're greeted by the beautiful staffs who escorted to our table, and welcomed with cold towels. The restaurant itself is beautiful, unusual architectural shape with a touch of red color and high ceiling. We felt welcomed and the staffs were wonderful. After we sat down and were given the menu, we noticed that The menu however was not extensive enough. Albeit that, it has all dishes we love : unagi sushi, sashimi platter, miso soup, tempura, salmon roe sushi, gyu teppanyaki, asparagus beef, etc.

The food were presented nicely and aesthetically appealing : the taste was good, but it could be better. Miso soup was too salty it burnt my palette ; sushi rice was too sweet, sushi palette were in tiny pieces and small slices, and gyu teppanyaki looked nothing like in menu book : tiny pieces. We're shocked. We continue eating and chatted throughout the night, accompanied by cheesecake dessert and chocolate cake Marquis. Honestly, The tea and sake were the saviors of the night!

Overall on the dining experience, taste was good but it wasn't mesmerizing as we expect. The price falls on the expensive side, as its attached to a luxury resort Maya. The service was impeccable, salute for that. (After we're home and reading other reviews, we just notice they didn't give us welcoming green tea after we sat down!).

It was a great night for us, sadly not a memorable dining experience as we might not come back again for second time.

We had a lovely dinner at Kuu with the First Table offer.
When we arrive, the staff was informed that we had a First Table booking and was expecting us. They were well informed about the offer and its conditions, which made everything as simple as it can be.
The menu is not very extensive, with only a few selections on each category, but there are many categories to choose from and so one can have a very varied dinner.
We ordered an array of foods and all of them were surprisingly fresh and tasty. Some highlights were the cold tofu (we ordered it twice) and the garlic bean cake, a fusion dish using tempe fried in garlic and topped with a japanese style sauce (we debated whether it was a teriyaki or other type of sauce), delicious.
Another delectable dish that was the highlight with the kids was the fried maki. It's lightly fried, but enough to give that extra crunchiness that made the kids devour it.
The only disappointing dish was the udon noodles. They were unfortunately overcooked, but that's a minor point.
After dinner, take a stroll down the beach. The resort is beautiful and the stroll is great to help your digestion :)
We'll be back, Kuu!

We really enjoyed the experience at Kuu! The service was very attentive and the food was just delicious, I will definitely recommend First Table to my Bali friends :) I had eaten in Maya Hotel before but never at Kuu, the overall feeling is a luxury hotel service with top quality food! Also the staff at First table were super fast at responding to my query on Facebook Messenger, as it was my first time using the system. Very happy First Table is operating in Bali. Waiting for the App launch now!
