Ah, the wok. A pan that demands a flourish, promising with it a world of flavour, expertly cooked spices and ultimately, food for the soul. And at The Wok Spices, it's no different.
It sits onsite at The Wolas Villas & Spa and is perfectly in keeping with the glamorous lifestyle that characterises Seminyak. The open-plan dining area is a gleaming shrine to the orient with mosaic patterned floor tiles, traditional lanterns hanging from their sky-scraper ceilings and one side that opens up entirely to its lush surroundings.
The food might look too pretty to eat, but don't let that stop you. Mains include elevated classics like pad thai and lemongrass chicken satay. For true decadence, opt for the lamb shank that's braised with fresh herbs and spices and the massaman fish curry is a slightly cooler option with a peanut and coconut base.
If you're after a light bite, their salads take the lunch-time staple to a new level. Choose from the hot and sour beef salad or prawn pacari salad; both serve crunchy plates bursting with local, fresh ingredients. Round it up with a bright purple cocktail; Instagram would be lost without it.
