From the moment you walk in, you’re treated like royalty.
Being a first table booking, I did have reservations that we would be treated differently, however this concern was completely unjustified.
We were whisked away to this stunning 1920’s themed era bar for a cocktail prior to dinner. Here, details And upmost quality were found in not only the furniture, but the staff, bar, and the live music.
After the cocktail, we entered the restaurant. It was akin to walking into a grand ballroom. Absolutely incredible. I personally love this great Gatsby era and it was beyond words. You’ll see photos of the restaurant but it’s hard to appreciate until you walk in on how sophisticated it is. My partner even took photos of the bathroom, it was that good. The paintings, the peacock feathers, the tiles, and chandelier was magnificent.

We met the head chef which was a beautiful touch, and he was very friendly. His team is one very skilled and well oiled machine. My partner and I went the full 12 course meal with wine pairings. We left completely and utterly full. The quality of the food was beyond words, with every bite of every plate a gastronomical experience. We were blown away from each dish (my partner and I had half of each plate and swapped). My personal favourite was the butterfish, while my partner loved the pumpkin. Wine pairings were on point with each meal. I recommend a minimum of 7-8 plates if you’re very hungry and want to walk out content.

This restaurant is certainly a unique one, and many, including ourselves were taking photos and enjoying this experience. You will be paying for it, but for those that want an experience beyond, or deem yourself a foodie, look no further.

Once again thank you to attentive wait staff and chefs. We look forward to returning on our next visit. Best restaurant we visited (and we have visited quite a few high end restaurants!).

If you’re looking for a Fine Dining Degustation where you enjoy a leisurely paced meal, Apertif is wonderful, but be prepared for big city prices.

We dined as a family of 3 for a special night out. We’re chefs with our own cooking school and wedding planning agency in Bali.

Out of the many courses, we loved the Amuse Bouche of Smoked Mackerel Macaroon, Canadian Lobster (additional cost), Duck Magret, Iberico Pork and an insanely delicious Venison Wellington that could easily go against Gordon Ramsey’s version.

Would recommend for those who want a worldly dining experience.

This was the single greatest dining experience I have ever had in my life. When my wife and I arrived, we were brought into the bar area, complete with a pool table and views of the rice fields, for a complimentary drink. After we finished our drinks, we were brought into the main dining area, where we were personally introduced to the Executive Chef and taken to our seats. The flavors throughout the 8-course meal were absolutely incredible and the service and attention to detail by the staff was the best I’ve ever had, culminating with a takeaway bag with my name on it that had an additional dessert for me to enjoy at home. Thank you to all the wonderful staff who made our experience so enjoyable. Highly recommend!

I have been using first table for quite some time in Australia & Bali and even though I have been to some fantastic restaurants, this one blew me away!! The degustation begins the cocktail and canapés in the bar areas which were all so delicious. We were then taken to the main dining area and got to meet the head chef and share the first part of the degustation at the kitchen pass which was a first for me. The food that followed, I (don’t even know how many courses) it seemed to be endless and all of the very highest quality. We had just been married in Bali a few days prior and they even made a special dessert course in the degustation especially for us.
The staffs attention to detail was second to none and made the experience so much better. I could go on and on about each detail of how good this restaurant is but just go and I guarantee you won’t be disappointed. A future Michelin star restaurant in the making for sure!!

This was mine and my husband’s first ever fine dining experience, and the staff guided us through it ever so gracefully.
We had the chefs degustation menu which was an 8 course meal, all the plates were perfectly balanced, beautifully decorated and extremely tasty, also their cocktail bar raised our bar (pun intended).
We had a great experience and will come back to bali for this!

We have experienced the most incredible evening to date each course perfectly matched with beautiful well selected wine the canapés were a tantalising taste experience left wondering what was to follow. Our wait staff included chefs explaining each course wine waiters explaining each wine and the amazing Nick head chef offering and explaining 3 of our meals. Complete surprises around each corner with beautiful extras included such as copper leaf decorated deserts a mix of local produce and World famous produce with ‘childhood memory experience’ to take home. For me this Evening was the ultimate in fine dining one I will be sharing and talking about for years to come. Agi and Stephan.

My boyfriend and I visited on the 16th of April. This is not a usual dining experience for us but we decided to try something new and special. From the moment we arrived we knew it’d be a really special evening: all staff were warm and gracious and explained to us how the night would go (and as we have never had a fine dining experience before this was really helpful). We had the 8 course vegetarian degustation which we emailed them about to let them know our dietary requirements which they were happy to meet.
The bar is incredible and a great place to start the evening - we had cocktails and starters before being moved to the dining room. This is where we met chefs Nic and Alexander. They gave us something to eat which I cannot remember what it was but it was delicious! Then we were seated. We chose a bottle of wine to share and then plate after plate of food was brought to the table. Each time with a wonderful description and lovely service. All staff were so attentive. There were so many surprises and my favourite thing was most definitely the mushroom Wellington and my boyfriend’s was the Petit fours. I was amazed at how quietly the kitchen staff worked and how organised and focused they were.
I have to say that even the bathroom was beautiful.
After our meal we had another cocktail in the bar and played a game of pool (very terribly on my behalf) and the bartender gave me some help.
They even took us back to our hotel and this was so kind.
Thank you to everyone for this night which we won’t ever forget.

Wow, you must try to get to experience this amazing dinner along with wine pairing. From the moment you arrive you feel transported back in time while experiencing modern food creations that tingle the taste buds. Three of us enjoyed the spectacular bar and restaurant setting, attentive service and a night with so many special touches. The creativity, high standard of food and service, passion and drive for perfection from all shone through. A memorable dinner and look forward to being able to return again sometime. Will definitely be recommending the experience to family and friends. It is well worth saving up for as part of your next trip to Bali.

Given the number of very positive reviews on this restaurant, my wife and I had both had very high expectations. In this case, they were actually exceeded. Apertif is a high-end restaurant with excellent food and service, and definitely on par with many of the Michelin Starred restaurants we have been over the year. We had the Degustation menu, which also included a large number of additional dishes not on the menu - and totalled 12 dishes in total. The fusion of European and Indonesian is worth a visit.

We had a wonderful time at Apéritif. My partner had requested extra decorations as a little surprise and as a result our table was really lovely. The waitstaffs were very patient in taking and explaining our orders. They even remembered our names during the whole dinner time. We especially enjoyed how some dishes had finishing touches being done right by our table and how the staffs explained the components of the dishes. In regards to the courses, I would say the venison wellington stood out the most to me, especially the just-right flaky pastry which was simply out of this world. The mackerel cream puff was a very surprising delight as well. The martino was also perhaps the best beef tartar I have ever had. All in all, we really enjoyed our time in Apéritif and can’t wait to be back. Our sincerest gratitude to all chefs, mixologists and staffs at Apéritif.

Perfect experience from beginning to end. The hotel and restaurant is gorgeous. The food was superb. The staff and the chef were beyond nice! For being such a high end hotel/restaurant, the staff really made you feel welcome and not stuffy. Really enjoyed our experience and hope others will too.
