Where the tropical rainforests end and the sky begins, that's where you'll find Indus Restaurant. Boasting uninterrupted views over the Tjampuhan Ridge and Mount Agung, this has to be one of Bali's most spectacular dining experiences yet.
Nestled in the clouds above one of Bali's most jaw-dropping natural wonders, Indus Restaurant combines immense surrounds with high-end cuisine and artisan cocktails. And whilst the bird's eye view does most of the talking, inside it's fit for a royal banquet with dramatic hand-carved columns, glossy terrazzo floors and beachy wooden furniture. Time your arrival at twilight to enjoy your first cocktail overlooking the sleeping forest and head inside for a romantic supper that'll remain in the memory long after the plates have been cleared.
Far removed from the comings and goings of Bali, soak in your pristine surroundings, take things slow and order in some small plates to pair alongside your first beverage. As the spacious dining hall fills up with other stylish diners, graze on beautifully designed plates like jumbo prawn brioche rolls, scallops in a moringa-kemangi dressing, and grilled calamari and pork belly with creamy avocado and spritely mint. If you wish to preserve your appetite, Indus' salads are bursting with local ingredients, bold dressings and sumptuous seafood.
By the time the main course is served, Indus' two levels will be emitting a soft glow and humming with the low chatter of romantic couples and the activity of the surrounding forest. Accompany this sensory atmosphere with Bali's own crackling pork belly, a rich bowl of beef rendang, a bright plate of Balinese paella or a nest of squid spaghetti with prawns and chilli. Endlessly elegant, gracious and with plenty of surprises along the way, Indus Restaurant has to be seen to be believed.
