Rebuilding the treasured connections between humans and nature, Ramu Kitchen relies on the richness of the soil and bounty of the oceans to inform its mindful, environmentally conscious menu.
Cultivating the very best of Mother Nature, Ramu is reinforcing ancient Balinese concepts that place physical and spiritual well-being above all else. And the restaurant does just that, using natural materials and a less-is-more approach to inform their spacious, slick, free-spirited dining room that allows everyone to breathe. Neighbouring various bodies of water and luscious palm trees too, those who choose to dine alfresco will be exposed to nature's most precious elements that, in the end, inform the menu.
Working together with local farmers, Ramu's menu features some of the freshest fish and vegetables that the island has to offer. For starters, they're serving clams and octopus in an aromatic Desi broth, a seafood coconut ceviche, tuna tartar made with line-caught tuna, and a vibrant feta and bamboo shoot salad drizzled with a warm dressing.
As for mains, locally-sourced meat also comes into the spotlight with sticky beef ribs, organic Balinese pork chop with Chinese cabbage sauerkraut, and a buffalo ragu pappardelle that updates this Italian classic with local meat. Alternatively, indulge your inner seafood lover with a dish of risotto made with the catch of the day. Finally, retreat back to the earth with spritely cocktails made with coconut, basil and tamarillo. Armed with local craft beers, healthy juices and reviving teas too, you will feel more grounded than ever before after a visit to Ramu Kitchen.
